EDI Shipping Bills - DGFT - 05/AM.08Extract OFFICE OF THE ZONAL JT. DIRECTOR GENERAL OF FOREIGN TRADE(CLA), 'A' WING,INDRAPRASTHA BHAWAN,I.P. ESTATE, NEW DELHI File No.Misc./Trade Notice/AM.08/CLA Dt.23 rd January,2008 TRADE NOTICE NO.05/AM.08 1. Trade is aware that under Para 3C of Policy Circular No.28 dt.6 th Oct.2005 the EP copy of EDI shipping bills need not be submitted to the DGFT Offices alongwith their DEPB E.Com applications. 2. It is noted, however that DEPB applicants to this Office are submitting even the EDI shipping bills alongwith the other documents prescribed. It is also noted that these shipping bills are available on the Server and can be accessed by this office directly. In view of the above, it has been decided that henceforth DEPB applicants need not submit the EP copy of the EDI shipping Bills, and this office will access the same on the server while processing the claims. However under the Handbook of Procedure Volume.I Para 9.5 the office reserves the right to call for any shipping bill in the original where the office feels the need for it, as for example where shipping bills have amendments carried out manually by Customs, and are not reflected on the server; shipping bills that involve present market value; or shipping bills where the description of the export product on this Office screen during the examination, does not match that in the application. The Trade may also note that DEPB applications against non EDI shipping bills are not covered by this Trade Notice, and such applications must be accompanied by the original EP copy of the manual shipping bills, alongwith the other prescribed documents. 3. This comes into force with immediate effect. (AMITABH JAIN) ZONAL JT. DIRECTOR GENERAL OF FOREIGN TRADE NOTICE BOARD
