Clearance of undelivered inbound international parcels - Reg. - Customs - 21/2013

Tech PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 21/2013 DATED 23.05.2013 Sub: Clearance of undelivered inbound international parcels - Reg. A review of undelivered inbound international articles carried out at Bangalore Sub-Foreign Post Office, has revealed that there are some articles which are pending Customs clearance for want of replies to the Call Memos issued by Postal Appraising Department (PAD). In some of these cases, the replies have not been received for a very long time. 2. Keeping in view the accumulated pendency, PAD is undertaking a special drive to liquidate same. Accordingly, reminders are being sent in all such pending cases requesting the consignees/recipients to furnish the replies to the Call Memo at earliest. It has also been decided that, in case, no reply is received within 14 days, the cases will be decided on the basis of available records without any further reference to the recipient(s). 3. In order to ensure that in future such pendencies are not allowed to pile up, it has been further decided that, PAD will henceforth wait for a reply only for one month from the date of issue of Call Memo . In case no reply is received within one month, the cases shall be decided on the basis of available records, without any further reference to the recipient(s). 4.
