Sometimes there is considerable delay in getting the scanning list generated out of ICEGATE and as a consequence the movement of import containers from the port is delayed. - Customs - 15/2013Extract OFFICE OF THE COMMISSIONER OF CUSTOMS (IMPORT) CONTAINR SCANNING DIVISION, JAWAHARLAL NEHRU CUSTOM HOUSE, NHAVA SHEVA,TAL.:URAN, DIST.: RAIGAD,MAHARASHTRA 400707 F.No. : S/V-30/Misc-44/2011 CSD Date: 07/05/2013 PUBLIC NOTICE NO: 15/2013 It has been brought to the notice of the undersigned that, sometimes there is considerable delay in getting the scanning list generated out of ICEGATE and as a consequence the movement of import containers from the port is delayed, which further leads to congestion of the port area. In such an event the following course of action would be followed: 1. The Scanning lists are auto generated from ICEGATE once the Shipping Agents file the IGM and entry inward is registered at the Boarding Office. 2. In case of non-generation of Scanning list, efforts are made by CSD to contact the Addl. Director, RMD, Mumbai and Software Vendors at New Delhi through E-Mail. 3. After completion of 8 hours of entry inwards, if the scanning list still remains to be generated, the CFS shall be allowed to move containers to the respective CFSs to avoid congestion inside the port. 4. CFS s are directed to ensure endorsement of entry inward timing on the list of containers for movement to the CFS. 5. If the scanning list is generated in the EDI system after the movement of the containers to the respective CFS s, the containers under scan hold should be diverted back to fixed scanner for scanning at CWC Distripark. 6. In case of non-generation of the scanning list even after 24 hours, all the containers, except the containers originating/coming from Pakistan and containers of HMS shall be allowed to be examined/cleared by the Docks Staff as per rules and containers from Pakistan and containers of HMS shall be scanned at the fixed scanner and thereafter cleared as below: In case of container originating/coming from Pakistan: These containers shall be examined 100% by the Docks staff, under the supervision of AC/DC, Docks of the concern CFS. In case of HMS: (I) If marked clean , the container shall be examined by the Docks staff at the concerned CFS. The percentage of such examination to be decided by the AC/DC incharge of the concerned CFS. (II) In case of container marked suspicious , the same shall be examined 100% by the Docks staff or under the supervision of CSD Staff as per the directions of AC/DC, CSD.
