S/43-MISC-07/2006 P-UBC Date: 12.01.2018 Public Notice No.07/2018 Sub: Clearance of Baggage at Unaccompanied Baggage Centre, (Speedy CFS), J.N.Custom House, Nhava Sheva-reg. Attention of all CFSs/Custodians/Shipping Lines, their agents/NVOCCs/Freight Forwarders and Custom Brokers/Importers are invited to the Public Notice No. 13/2010 dated 10.02.2010 interalia directing the Shipping Agents to send all FCL containers containing Personal Effects directly to Speedy CFS, Sonari Village for examination clearance. 2. Further, attention is also invited to the Public Notice No. 07/2011 dated 24.01.2011 interalia extending the facility of examination of LCL cargo (baggage) (by Custom Officers of U.B. Centre)in that particular CFS, where the cargo was lying by (except at M/s Navkar (Preeti Logistics, JWC CFS and Ashte Logistics). The LCL cargo lying at the above mentioned three CFSs were being examined by the Officers at U.B. Centre on the receipt of prior intimation. 3. It has been observed that some Shipping Lines have been shifting even FCL containers, stuffed with only baggage/personal effects, belonging to various passengers to other CFSs on the pretext that these are LCL consignments. This causes inconvenience and delay in baggage clearance. 4. Therefore, all the Shipping Lines their agents are directed to shift such FCL containers, (stuffed only with baggage/personal effects belonging to various passengers) directly from Port to Speedy CFS, Sonari Village only, for examination clearance LCL cargo shall be examined by officers of U.B.C. in the respective CFS, where the cargo is lying, on prior intimation as the practice being followed at present. 5.
