No. 213/28/92-CX.6] Government of India Central Board of Excise Customs New Delhi Subject : Problems brought up in 33rd Advisory Council - Delay in granting permission for destruction - Regarding. Reference to Board's letter F. No. 218/26/86-CX.6, dated 25-9-1986 and to state the trade has again represented that Central Excise Authorities take quite long time in granting permission to the assessees for destroying excisable goods. 2. It has already been directed in the aforesaid instructions that such applications should be disposed of within 2 days of the receipt of the same when no tests are required to be carried out. 3. These instructions are being reiterated and may be brought to the notice of all concerned officers for strict compliance.
