Attention is invited to this office Public Notice No.11/2023 dated 13.04.2023 regarding Empanelment of Chartered Engineers for Examination/Valuation of Second-hand/old used machinery/all other types of machinery items/Goods etc. and CBIC Circular No.07/2020-Customs dated 05.02.2020 issued vide F.No.467/34/2006-Cus.V, issuing guidelines related to valuation of Second hand Machinery etc. As per Para 5 of the said Circular, each Customs House has been directed to empanel Chartered Engineers as per the requirements provided in the said Circular for the purpose of appraisal/inspection of second-hand machinery and other items, certified as such by the Institute of Chartered Engineers. Accordingly, applications from the interested Chartered Engineers are hereby invited for empanelment for valuation of Second-hand Machinery, old used machinery/all other types of machinery items and such other goods etc. imported at Customs Ahmedabad Commissionerate as per CBIC Circular No.07/2020-Customs dated 05.02.2020. The Applications may be submitted in the enclosed proforma on or before 20.10.2023. Chartered Engineers already empaneled under Public Notice No. 11/2023 dated 13.04.2023 need not make application again, and they will be continue to be empaneled as Chartered Engineers. The panel shall be valid for a period of one year and may be reviewed thereafter. Preference will be given to the applicants having specialization in particular branch/field of engineering based on work experience. On selection, such Chartered Engineers shall have to submit half-yearly Self-Appraisal performance report to decide whether they are fit to continue in the panel or otherwise. All the Trade Associations/Chambers of Commerce and Customs Brokers Association are requested to publicize the contents of this Public Notice among their members/constituents.
