Customs – Drawal of one composite sample for one vessel in respect of imports of edible oils and obtaining test results from the FSSAI approved JNTU, Kakinada lab – Further extension of validity – Reg. - Customs - PUBLIC NOTICE No. 05/2023 – CUSTOMSExtract OFFICE OF THE COMMISSIONER OF CUSTOMS (PREVENTIVE) 55-17-3, C-14, 2nd Floor, Road No.2, Industrial Estate, Autonagar, Vijayawada 520007 Phone : 0866-2551261 / Fax : 0866-2551156 Date : 14.03.2023 PUBLIC NOTICE No. 05/2023 CUSTOMS [Addendum to Public Notice No. 15/2022- Dt.02.12.2022] Sub : - Customs Drawal of one composite sample for one vessel in respect of imports of edible oils and obtaining test results from the FSSAI approved JNTU, Kakinada lab Further extension of validity Reg. ********* Attention of all the importers, Custom House Agents and the Members of the Trade is invited to the Public Notice Nos. 01/2022 dt.01.02.2022, 04/2022 dt.24.05.2022 and 15/2022 dated 02.12.2022 issued by this Office, regarding drawal of one composite sample for one vessel in respect of the consignment of import of edible oils and obtaining test results from the FSSAI approved JNTU, Kakinada lab. 2. The validity for the above facility was given for an initial period of three months i.e., up to 30.04.2022 (three months period from the date of issuance of the said Public Notice No. 01/2022 dt.01.02.2022) and extended for a further period of 6 (six months) with effect from 01.06.2022 i.e., up to 30.11.2022 vide Public Notice No. 04/2022 dt.24.05.2022 and further extended for a period of 4 months i.e., upto 31.03.2023 vide Public Notice No. 15/2022 dated 02.12.2022. 3. In view of the representations received from the importers of edible oils (Trade) importing through Kakinada port for renewal of facility of composite sampling of edible oils and testing in the JNTU Lab, Kakinada, the issue has been reviewed by the Commissioner of Customs and considered for further extension of the facility. Further, Trade reiterated that continuing with JNTU Lab at Kakinada, a local FSSAI nominated Laboratory which is very much comfortable and enable them in getting test reports within stipulated time and to maintain supply chain to the public for better quality of service. With regard to working of the composite sampling procedure is concerned, in so far as, nothing adverse has come to the knowledge of this office. 4. In light of the above, the facility of the drawal of one composite sample for one vessel in respect of the consignment of import of edible oils and obtaining the test results from the FSSAI approved JNTU, Kakinada Lab has been extended for a further period of 6 months i.e., from 01.04.2023 to 30.09.2023 temporarily and further renewal procedure will be reviewed whether to continue or otherwise. 5. All the remaining conditions of the said Public Notice No. 01/2022 dt.01.02.2022, stands good and should be observed scrupulously without any deviation. 6. Action to be taken in terms of decisions taken in the Public Notice should be considered as Standing Order for the purpose of Officers and Staff. 7. Difficulties, if any, faced in implementation of this Public Notice may be brought to the notice of the undersigned. 8. This Public Notice issued with the approval of the Commissioner.
