Reg : CBDT s letter F.No. 286/26/2008-IT (Inv. II) dt. 09-01-2014 Madam/Sir, The undersigned is directed to invite your attention to the proforma for Preliminary Search Report (PSR) as revised by CBDT, vide above referred letter, wherein the item endorsing a copy of PSR to CEIB has been dispensed with. However, it is seen that certain DsIT (Inv.) continue to send a copy of PSRs to CEIB in all cases. 2. You are requested to ensure that the practice of sending a copy of PSRs to CEIB is discontinued forthwith. 3. However, in compliance to various letters issued by CBDT from time to time in this regard, the officers may continue to supply information/data to CEIB for creation of database of suspected tax evaders. 4. You are also requested to ensure that a copy of the information shared in at REIC forum is also sent to CEIB separately.
