No. 218/57/87-CX.6] Government of India Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) New Delhi Subject : Dispensing Bank Guarantees for export bonds in respect of regular exporters - Instruction reg. The Collectors' Conference held in November, 1987 at New Delhi, had recommended (recommendation No. 1.8) that as an export promotion measure the requirement of furnishing bank guarantee/securities for export bonds may be dispensed with respect of regular exporters of excisable goods. 1. The recommendation has been accepted by the Board. Accordingly registered exporters, including export houses need not be required to furnish any bank guarantees/securities for the export bonds required to be furnished by them under rule 13 and 14 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944. 2. A suitable Trade notice may be issued for the information of the Trade.
