Submission of Quarterly Reports of Internal/Receipt Audit-Major and Minor Objections - regarding. - Income Tax - 183Extract CIRCULAR NO. 183 DATED 22.12.1987 Submission of Quarterly Reports of Internal/Receipt Audit-Major and Minor Objections - regarding. It has been observed that the quarterly reports of Internal/ Receipt Audit (Major and Minor) Objection are not received in the Directorate in time. Sometimes the reports for one quarter are so much delayed that by the time these are received, the report for the subsequent quarter becomes due. This causes avoidable delay in the compilation of quarterly reviews by Directorate, which has also come in the adverse notice of the CBDT. 2. Normally, the quarterly reports of one quarter should reach the Directorate by the 15th of the month following the end of the quarter. In Circular No.166 dated 28.1.86 it was mentioned that the Directorate will not await the reports from the Commissioners/ IACs (Audit) beyond a period of two months from the end of the relevant quarter. 3. It is clarified that the above said circular should not be construed as extending the scheduled date for submitting the quarterly progress reports which must be submitted within 15 days of the end of each quarter as laid down earlier. In supersession of our Circular dated 28.1.86, the last date upto which the Directorate will await Quarterly Reports are hereby modified as under:- Reports for quarter ending Last date for awaiting reports March 30th April June 31st July September 31st October December 31st January 4. It is also clarified that normally no reminders would be issued, and in case the quarterly reports from any charge is not received within the last dates mentioned above the names of the defaulting charges would be communicated to the Board for necessary action. 5. I would once again request the CsIT/IAC (Audit) to ensure ' that the quarterly reports due from them are received in this Directorate well in time.
