INSTRUCTION NO. 519/CBDT Dated : Feburary 28, 1973 Section(s) Referred: 194C Statute: Income - Tax Act, 1961 Instances have come to the notice of the Board where payments to contractors have been without deduction of tax at source, probably due of law requiring such deduction. It is, therefore, desired that extensive publicity should be given by you to these provisions through the usual media available for such publicity in your charge. You are particulary requested to bring these provisions specifically to the notice of the various Government Departments by addressing/discussing with the heads of the Departments so that these provisions are implemented by all concerned. 2.
