To set up a sector-specific Special Economic Zone for information technology and information technology enabled services at Perungalathur Village, Chennai in the State of Tamil Nadu. - S.O. 1589 (E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION Dated 24/09/2007 S. O. 1589(E) - Whereas M/s. Shriram Properties and Infrastructure Private Limited, has proposed under Section 3 of The Special Economic Zones Act 2005 (28 of 2005) (hereinafter referred to as the Act), to set up a sector-specific Special Economic Zone for information technology and information technology enabled services at Perungalathur Village, Chennai in the State of Tamil Nadu; And, whereas, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zone Rules 2006 , has notified the total area of 10 hectares at Perungalathur Village, Chennai in the State of Tamil Nadu as Special Economic Zone in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification No. S.O. 1633(E) dated 28th September, 2006; And, whereas, M/s. Shriram Properties and Infrastructure Private Limited has proposed to include additional area of 13-40-88 hectares at Perungalathur Village, Chennai in the State of Tamil Nadu as a part of that Special Economic Zone; And, whereas, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under Sub-section (8) of Section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled and it has granted letters of approval under Sub-section (10) of Section 3 of the Act for development and operation of sector specific Special Economic Zone for information technology and information technology enabled services at the said Perungalathur Village, Chennai in the State of Tamil Nadu on 3rd May, 2007; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to Sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the The Special Economic Zones Act 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby notifies an additional area of 13.40.88 hectares at Perungalathur Village, Chennai in the State of Tamil Nadu, comprising of the Survey numbers and the area given in the Table below, to be included as a part of that Special Economic Zone, namely:- Table Sl.
