To set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for information technology and information technology enabled services at Perungalathur Village, Chennai, in the State of Tamil Nadu MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi , the 9th November, 2009 S.O. 2857(E). - Whereas M/s. Shriram Properties and Infrastructure Private Limited, has proposed under Section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for information technology and information technology enabled services at Perungalathur Village, Chennai, in the State of Tamil Nadu; And whereas, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , has notified a total area of 10 hectares at Perungalathur Village, Chennai, in the State of Tamil Nadu as Special Economic Zone in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry notification number S.O. 1633(E) dated 28th September, 2006 and subsequently notified additional area of 13.40.88 hectares at above said villages in the State of Tamil Nadu as Special Economic Zone in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry notification number S.O. 1589(E) dated the 24 th September, 2007; And whereas, M/s. Shriram Properties and Infrastructure Private Limited, has proposed to de-notify an area of 7.75.78 hectares at Perungalathur Village, Chennai in the State of Tamil Nadu; And whereas, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirement under sub-section (8) of Section 3 of the Act and other related requirements are fulfilled and it has granted letter of approval under sub-section (10) of Section 3 of the Act for de-notification of 7.75.78 hectares from the notified Special Economic Zone for information technology and information technology enabled services on 26th August, 2009; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby denotifies an area of 7.75.78 hectares, comprising at Survey Number361/1A2 (Part), Perungalathur Village, Chennai, in the State of Tamil Nadu from the Special Economic Zone.
