SEZ - Central Government de-notifies an area of 5.03.54 hectares at Perungalathur Village, Chennai in the State of Tamil Nadu - S.O. 2667(E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 10th August, 2017 S.O. 2667(E). -Whereas, M/s. Shriram Properties and Infrastructure Private Limited, had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for Information Technology and Information Technology enabled services at Perungalathur Village, Chennai in the State of Tamil Nadu; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , had notified and de-notified the following areas at above Special Economic Zone as per the details given below:- S. Shriram Properties and Infrastructure Private Limited has proposed for de-notification of 5.03.54 hectares and Central Government has granted approval on 08.06.2010.; AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has given its approval to the proposal vide letter No. 15967/MIE.2/2016-5, dated 06.06.2017; AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, MEPZ Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for de-notification of an area of 5.03.54 hectares of the Special Economic Zone; NOW, WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby de-notifies an area of 5.03.54 hectares , thereby making resultant area as 10.61.56 hectares , comprising the survey numbers and the area given below in the table, namely:- TABLE S.
