To set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for information technology and information technology enabled services at Manapakkam and Muglivakkam villages, Sriperumbudur Taluk, Kancheepuram District in the State of Tamil Nadu - S.O. 396(E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 19 March, 2007 S.O. 396(E) - Whereas M/s. DLF Info City Developers (Chennai) Limited had proposed under Section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , hereinafter referred to as the Act, to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for information technology and information technology enabled services at Manapakkam and Muglivakkam villages, Sriperumbudur Taluk, Kancheepuram District in the State of Tamil Nadu; And whereas the Central Government, after the grant of letter of approval under Sub-section (10) of Section 3 of the Act for the development and operation of the said sector specific Special Economic Zone, on 22nd June, 2006, in exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 , had notified the total area of 13.2923 hectares at Manapakkam and Muglivakkam villages, Sriperumbudur Taluk, Kancheepuram District in the State of Tamil Nadu as Special Economic Zone in the notification of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry number S.O. 1978(E) dated 16th November, 2006 ; And whereas M/s. DLF Info City Developers (Chennai) Limited has proposed including of an additional area of 3.4384 hectares at Manapakkam and Muglivakkam villages, in the said notified area of 13.2923 hectares as a part of that Special Economic Zone; And whereas the said proposal for increasing the area of the said Special Economic Zone has been approved by the Board of Approval on 2nd February, 2007; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to Sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Act and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby notifies an additional area of 3.4384 hectares at Manapakkam and Muglivakkam, villages, Sriperumbudur Taluk, Kancheepuram District in the State of Tamil Nadu, comprising of the Survey numbers and the area given in the Table below, to be included as a part of that Special Economic Zone, namely:- Table Sl.
