To set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for information technology and information technology enabled services at Manapakkam and Mugalivakkam Villages, Sriperumbudur Taluk, Kancheepuram District in the State of Tamil Nadu MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi , the 2nd December, 2008 S.O. 2833(E). Whereas M/s. DLF Info City Developers (Chennai) Limited, has proposed under Section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the Act) to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for information technology and information technology enabled services at Manapakkam and Mugalivakkam Villages, Sriperumbudur Taluk, Kancheepuram District in the State of Tamil Nadu; And whereas the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, has notified a total area of 13.2923 hectares at Manapakkam and Mugalivakkam Villages, Sriperumbudur Taluk, Kancheepuram District in the State of Tamil Nadu as Special Economic Zone in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification No. S.O. 1978 (E),dated 16th November, 2006 and subsequently notified an additional area of 3.4384 hectares at above said villages in the State of Tamil Nadu as Special Economic Zone in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification No. S.O. 396 (E), dated 19th March, 2007; And whereas M/s. DLF Info City Developers (Chennai) Limited has proposed to include a part of additional area of 0.69. 83 hectares at Kittampalayam and Karumathampattti Village, Palladam Taluk, Coimbatore District in the State of Tamil Nadu as a part of that Special Economic Zone; And whereas the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of Section 3 of the Act and other related requirements are fulfilled and it has granted approval in the Board of Approval meeting held on 22nd September, 2098 under sub-section (10) of Section 3 of the Act for development and operation of the sector specific Special Economic Zone for information technology and information technology enabled services at the said Manapakkam and Mugalivakkam Villages; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Act and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, the Central Government hereby notifies as additional area of 0.69,83 hectares at Mugalivakkam Village, Sriperumbudur Taluk, Kancheepuram District in the State of Tamil Nadu, comprising of the Survey numbers and the area given in the Table below, to be included as apart of that Special Economic Zone, namely:- TABLE Sl.
