SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE BOARD OF INDIA NOTIFICATION Mumbai, the 18th May, 1998 S.O. 417 (E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992 (15 of 1992), the Board hereby makes the following regulations further to amend the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Foreign Institutional Investors) Regulations, 1995, namely :- I. (i) These regulations may be called the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Foreign Institutional Investors) Second Amendment) Regulations, 1998. (ii) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the official gazette. II. In the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Foreign Institutional Investors) Regulations, 1995 (hereinafter referred to as the said regulations) the following insertions shall be made in regulation 15- (a) In Explanation to the provisos to sub-regulation (2) of the said regulation the words and treasury bills shall be inserted after the words dated Government securities . (b) In proviso after sub-clause (c) to sub-regulation (3) of the said regulation the words including treasury bills shall be inserted after the words Government securities and before the words shall be carried out . SEBI (Foreign Institutional Investors) Regulations, 1995 was amended by the SEBI (Foreign Institutional Investors)(Second Amendment) Regulations, 1996 which was published in the Gazette of India on November 19, 1996, vide S.O. SEBI (Foreign Institutional Investors) Regulations, 1995 was amended by the SEBI (Foreign Institutional Investors) Amendment Regulations, 1997 which was published in the Gazette of India on February 12, 1997, vide S.O. No. 105(E). SEBI (Foreign Institutional Investors) Regulations, 1995 was further amended by the SEBI (Foreign Institutional Investors) (Second Amendment) Regulations, 1997 which was published in the Gazette of India on July 10,1997, vide S.O. No. 495(E). SEBI (Foreign Institutional Investors) Regulations, 1995 was further amended by the SEBI (Foreign Institutional Investors) (Third Amendment) Regulations, 1997 which was published in the Gazette of India on December 5,1997. SEBI (Foreign Institutional Investors) Regulations, 1995 was further amended by the SEBI (Foreign Institutional Investors) (Amendment) Regulations, 1998 which was published in the Gazette of India on April 20, 1998, vide S.O. No. 333(E).
