Central Government rescind Notification No. S.O. 2100(E) dated 5th December, 2007 - S.O. 1687 (E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 29th April, 2019 S.O. 1687(E).- WHEREAS, M/s. Bengal Shapoorji Developers Pvt. Limited, had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for Information Technology and Information Technology Enabled Services at Plot No. III-F/1, Action Area-III, New Town, Kolkata, in the State of West Bengal; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zone Rules 2006 , had notified an area of 20.2345 hectares vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification Number S.O. 2100(E) dated 5th December, 2007; AND, WHEREAS, M/s. Bengal Shapoorji Developers Pvt. Limited has now proposed to de-notify entire area of 20.2345 hectares of the above Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of West Bengal has given its No Objection to the proposal vide letter No.26-CI/O/IPI/GEN-MIS/43/2016 dated 21th January, 2019; AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, Falta Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for de-notification of entire area of 20.2345 Hectares of the Special Economic Zone; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by first proviso to rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 , the Central Government hereby rescinds the above notification except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such rescission.
