Sector specific SEZ for IT/ITES at Triunelveli District in the State of Tamil Nadu - Areas notified - Central Government rescinds Notification Nos. S.O. 156 (E), S.O. 3720 (E) and S.O. 1123 (E) - S.O. 2741(E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) (SEZ DIVISION) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 22nd June, 2023 S.O. 2741(E). WHEREAS, M/s. Highland Valley Corporation Private Limited, had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for IT/ITES at 371/2, Kadayam Perumpathu village,Near Petrol Bunk, Mathapuram, Ambasamudram Taluk, Triunelveli District in the State of Tamil Nadu; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 , had notified the following areas at above Special Economic Zone as details given below in the table: - Sl. Highland Valley Corporation Private Limited now proposed to de-notify the entire area of 31.99 hectares of the above Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has given No Objection Certificate to the proposal vide letter No. 6132/MIE.2/2022-1 dated 7th July, 2022; AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, Madras Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for de-notification of entire area of 31.99 hectares of the Special Economic Zone; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by first proviso to rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 , the Central Government hereby rescinds the above notification except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such rescission.
