Commencement date of the Constitution (Forty-second Amendment) Act, 1976 - G.S.R. 2(E) - Indian Law

MINISTRY OF LAW, JUSTICE AND COMPANY AFFAIRS (Department of Legal Affairs) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 3 rd January, 1977 G.S.R. 2(E). In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-Section (2) of section 1 of the Constitution (Forty-second Amendment) Act, 1976, the Central Government hereby appoints (a) the 3rd day of January, 1977, as the date on which sections 2 to 5 (both inclusive), 7 to 17 (both Inclusive). 20, 28, 29, 30, 33, 36, 43 to 53 (both inclusive), 55, 56, 57 and 59 of the said Act shall come into force, (b) the 1st day of February, 1977, as the date on which sections 6, 23 to 26 (both Inclusive), 37 to 42 (both inclusive), 54 and 58 of the said Act shall come into force, and (c) the 1st day of April, 1977, as the date on which section 27 of the said Act shall come into force.
