Section 205C of the Companies Act, 1956 - Establishment of Investor Education and Protection Fund - Notified committee - S.O. 539 - Indian LawExtract Section 205C of the Companies Act, 1956 - Establishment of Investor Education and Protection Fund - Notified committee Notification No. S.O. 539(E), dated, 25-2-2009 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (4) of Section 205C of the Companies Act, 1956 (1 of 1956), the Central Government hereby constitutes a Committee consisting of the following persons to administer the Investor Education and Protection Fund established by the Central Government vide G.S.R.749(E) dated the 1st October, 2001, namely:- 1. Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs - Chairman 2. Additional Secretary/Joint Secretary and Financial Advisor, Ministry of Corporate Affairs - Member 3. Executive Director, Reserve Bank of India, Mumbai - Member 4. Executive Director, Securities and Exchange Board of India, Mumbai - Member 5. Shri Rave Narain, Managing Director, National Stock Exchange - Member 6. Shri Manu Chadha, Chartered Accountant - Member 7. Shri Nesar Ahmed, Company Secretary - Member 8. Shri P. Vaidyanathan, Investor Activist, Chennai - Member 9. Shri Vinod Kothari, Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary, Kolkata - Member 10. Shri K.K. Gupta, Indian Railways Traffic Service (Retired) - Member 11. Shri Avinash K. Srivastava, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs - Convenor The Members of the Committee shall hold office for a period of two years with effect from the date of publication of this notification.
