Metals - Notifications 180/88-C.E., 40/94-C.E., 41/94-C.E., 42/94-C.E. - Amendment Notification: 55/95-CE Dated 16-Mar-1995 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 5A of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed, shall be amended or further amended, as the case may be, in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table. TABLE S.No. Notification No. and date Amendment (1) (2) (3) 1. No. 180/88-Central Excises, dated the 13th May, 1988. In the Table annexed to the said notification, -(i) S. No. 1 and the entries relating thereto shall be omitted; (ii) after S. No. 8 and the entries relating thereto, the following S. No. and entries shall be inserted, namely : - (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) "9. 76.12 Metal containers Nil If in or in relation to the manufa- cture of which no pro-cess is ordina- rily carr-ied on with the aid of power". 2. No. 40/94-Central Excises, dated the 1st March, 1994. In the Table annexed to the said notification, - (i) S. Nos. 4 and 6 and the entries relating thereto shall be omitted; (ii) after S. No. 8 and the entries relating thereto, the following S. Nos. and entries shall be inserted, namely :- (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) "9. 72 Waste and scrap of stainless steel Nil If such waste and sc-rap ari-ses out of manu-facture of cold rolled st-ainless steel pattis/pattas." 3. No. 41/94-Central Excises, dated the 1st March, 1994. In the Table annexed to the said notification, - S. Nos. 2, 7 and 14 and the entries relating thereto shall be omitted; after S. No. 15 and the entries relating thereto, the following S. Nos. and entries shall be inserted :- (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) "16. 73.10 Metal Containers Nil If in or in relation to the manufacture of which no process is ordinarily carried on with the aid of power." 4. No. 42/94-Central Excises, dated the 1st March, 1994. In the said notification, in the Table, S. Nos. 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 and the entries relating thereto shall be omitted.
