Amendments to Notifications No. 30/88-C.E., No. 43/88-C.E. and No. 35/91-C.E.

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 5A of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed, shall be amended or further amended, as the case may be, in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table :

In the said notification,-
(i) in paragraph 1, for the words "from the whole of the duty of excise leviable thereon, which is specified in the said Schedule:", the following shall be substituted, namely :-
"from so much of the duty of excise leviable thereon which is specified in the said Schedule as is in excess of 10% ad valorem :";
(ii) in the Annexure, - |

(a) Serial Nos. 14, 21 and 34 and the entries relating thereto, shall be omitted.
(b) after Serial No. 33 and the entry relating thereto, the following serial numbers and entries shall be added, namely :- |
|
|
|
|
"34. Rifampicin Single ingredient formulations of
35. Formulations of Rifampicin with:
(i) isoniazid (INH);
(ii) isoniazid (INH) and Pyrazinamide;
or
(iii) isoniazid (INH) and Vitamin B6". |

In the said notification, -
(i) in paragraph 1, for the words "from the whole of the duty of excise leviable thereon, which is specified in the said Schedule", the following shall be substituted, namely :- |

"from so much of the duty of excise leviable thereon which is specified in the said Schedule as is in excess of 10% ad valorem"; |

|

(ii) in the Annexure, after serial number 44 and the entry relating thereto, the following serial number and entry shall be added, namely :- |

|
|
|
"45. Trichloro Acetyl Chloride (TCAC)". |

In the Table annexed to the said notification, after Sl. No. 26 and the entry relating thereto, the following S. No. and entry shall be added, namely :- |
