Amendment to Notification No. 27/87-C.E., relating to rebate for solvent extracted cotton seeds oil and No. 192/87, for soap

Notification No. 17/88-C.E.

Dated 1-3-1988

In exercise of the powers conferred by rule 57K of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed shall be further amended in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table :-

In the said notification, -

(i)

for condition (v), the following condition shall be substituted, namely :-

 

 

 

"(v) the credit shall be taken only in respect of indigenous inputs and the manufacturer shall produce such documents as may be required by the Assistant Collector of Central Excise in this regard :

 

 

 

Provided that in the case of palm oil used as input the manufacturer shall within 5 months from the date of taking credit, or within such extended period as the Assistant Collector of Central Excise may allow in this behalf, produce a certificate from an officer not below the rank of Deputy Director in the Directorate of Vanaspati, Vegetable Oils and Fats in the Ministry of Food and Civil Supplies of the Government of India to the effect that the said oil has been of indigenous origin";

 

 

(ii)

in the Table, -

 

(a)

against S. No. 4, for the entry in column (3), the entry "Rs. 4000" shall be substituted ;

 

 

 

(b)

after S. No. 6 and the entries relating thereto, the following S. Nos. and entries shall be inserted, namely :-

In the said notification, in the Table, against S. No. 1 for the entry in column (3), the entry "Rs. 640" shall be substituted.
