Central Excise (16th Amendment) Rules, 1986

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Excise Rules, 1944, namely :-

1. (1) These rules may be called the Central Excise (16th Amendment) Rules, 1986.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

 2. In the Central Excise Rules, 1944, in Appendix I, in (II) Specimen Forms, -

(i) in Form No. E.A. 1, after Sl. No.(6), the following Sl. No. shall be inserted, namely :-

"(6A). Whether the appellant wishes to be hoard in person?";

 (ii) in Form No. E.A. 3, after Sl. No. 9, the following Sl. No. shall be inserted, namely :-

 "9A. Whether the appellant wishes to be heard in person?";

(iii) in Form No. E.A. 8, after Sl. No. (6), the following Sl. No. shall be inserted namely :-

 "(6A). Whether the appellant wishes to be heard in person?".
