Electric wires and cables Notification No. 231/86-C.E. Dated 3-4-1986 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 69/86-Central Excises, dated the 10th February, 1986, namely :— In the said notification,— (i) In the Table, after Sl. No. 3 and the entries relating thereto, the following Sl. No, and entries shall be inserted, namely :— (1) (2) (3) (4) "4 Insulated (including enamelled or anodised) wire, cable (including co-axial cable) and other insulated electric conductors, whether or not fitted with connectors; optical fibre cables, made up of individually sheathed fibres, whether or not assembled with electric conductors or fitted with connectors. Twenty-five per cent ad valorem —" ; (ii) for paragraph 2, the following paragraph shall be substituted namely :— "2. The expressions "winding wires" and "electric wires and cables" used against Sl. No. 1, 2 and 3 shall not include square or rectangular conductors.".
