Synthetic organic dye-stuffs

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government hereby exempts goods, falling under sub-heading No. 3204.29 of the Schedule to the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985 (5 of 1986) [other than those produced or manufactured by a manufacturer who had cleared synthetic organic dyes in unformulated or unstandardised or unprepared form (such as wet cakes or press cakes) for home consumption, on payment of duty, during the period commencing on the 1st day of April, 1985 and ending with the 28th day of February, 1986] from so much of the duty of excise leviable thereon which is specified in the said Schedule as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of 35% ad valorem.
