4th Amendment to Excise Rules

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Excise Rules, 1944, namely :-

1. (i) These rules may be called the Central Excise (4th Amendment) Rules, 1986.

 (ii) They shall come into force on the 28th of February, 1986.

2. In Appendix I to the Central Excise Rules, 1944, in (II) Specimen Forms, -

(i) in Central Excise Series No. 57A, in column 6(c), in the heading, for the words, figures and brackets "First Schedule to the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944)" the words, figures and brackets "Schedule to the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985 (5 of 1986)" shall be substituted;

(ii) in Central Excise Series Nos. 65A, 65AA, and 65AAA, for the words "Tariff Item and sub-item No.", the words "Tariff sub-heading No." shall be substituted;

(iii) in Central Excise Series Nos. 69 and 79B, in column 3, for the heading, the heading "Tariff sub-heading No.", shall be substituted;

(iv) in Central Excise Series No. 87, in clause (4) for the words "Tariff Item", the words "sub-heading No.", shall be substituted.
