In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, read with sub-section (3) of section 3 of the Mineral Products (Additional Duties of Excise and Customs) Act, 1958 (27 of 1958), the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue and Insurance) No. 179/73-Central Excises, dated the 15th September, 1973, namely :-

In the said notification, -

(1) for the words, figures and brackets "Item No. of the First Schedule to the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944)", the words, figures and brackets "Heading Nos. or sub-heading Nos. of the Schedule to the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985 (5 of 1986)" shall be substituted;

(2) In the Table, in column 2, -

(a) for the heading, the following heading shall be substituted, namely : -

"Heading No. or sub-heading No. of the Schedule to the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985 (5 of 1986)";

 (b) the entries specified in column (1) of the Schedule below shall be substituted with the corresponding entries in column (2) thereof.

2. This notification shall come into force on the date of commencement of the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985 (5 of 1986).
