Gold - Effective rate of Customs duty - Amendment to Notification Nos. 117/94-Cus., 171/94-Cus. and 80/97-Cus. Notification No. 2/99-Cus. Dated 4-1-1999 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed, shall be further amended in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table. 2. This notification shall come into force on the 5th day of January, 1999. TABLE S.No. Notification No. and Date Amendment (1) (2) (3) 1. 117/94-Customs, dated the 27th April, 1994 In the Table annexed to the said notification, against S.No. 1, for the entry in column (3), the entry "Rs. 400 per 10 grams" shall be substituted. 2. 171/94-Customs, dated the 30th September, 1994 In Para 1 of the said notification, for the words, letters and figures "calculated at the rate of Rs. 250 per ten grams", the words, letters and figures "calculated at the rate of Rs. 400 per ten grams" shall be substituted. 3. 80/97-Customs, dated the 21st October, 1997 In the Table annexed to the said notification, against S.No. 1, for the entry in column (3), the entry "Rs. 400 per 10 grams" shall be substituted.
