Amendment to Notification No. 262/87-Cus. [G.E. 139] - 249/90 - Customs -TariffExtract Amendment to Notification No. 262/87-Cus. [G.E. 139] Notification No. 249/90-Cus. Dated 21-9-1990 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue No. 262/87-Customs, dated the 2nd July, 1987, namely :- In the said notification, - (a) in condition (viii), for the words "the importer", the words, brackets and letters "save as otherwise provided in condition (xiiia), the importer" shall be substituted; (b) to condition (x), the following proviso shall be added, namely :- "Provided that scrap, dust or sweepings of gold arising in the manufacturing process may be forwarded to the Government Mint by the importer for conversion into standard gold bars and return to the said Zone in accordance with the procedure specified by the Collector of Customs in this regard;"; (c) after condition (xiii), the following condition shall be inserted, namely :- "(xiiia) gem and jewellery manufactured in the said zone maybe supplied to the retail outlets or show rooms set up in the departure lounge at international airports at Delhi and Bombay in accordance with para 16 of the Import and Export Policy (April, 1990-March, 1993), for sale to a tourist as defined in the Tourists Baggage Rules, 1978, leaving India in accordance with the procedure specified by the Collector of Customs;".
