Amendment to Notification No. 343/87-Cus. - Aluminium Ingots Notification No. 250/89-Cus. Dated 16-10-1989 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 343/87-Customs, dated the 27th October, 1987, namely :- In the said notification, for the words "from the whole of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule", the words and figures "from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of 5% ad valorem plus Rs. 2500 per tonne" shall be substituted.
