Amendment to Notification No. 10/84-Cus. [Chapter 72] Notification No. 245/89-Cus. Dated 3-10-1989 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 10/84-Customs, dated the 12th January, 1984, namely:- In the said notification, - (i) for the words "or replenishment import licences" the words, "replenishment import licences or Import-Export Pass Books (incorporating import licences)" shall be substituted; (ii) for condition (a), the following condition shall be substituted, namely :- "(a) the importer at the time of clearance proves to the satisfaction of the Assistant Collector of Customs that an equivalent quantity of cold rolled stainless steel plates, sheets and strips, worked out in the ratio of 1.111 tonnes of hot rolled stainless steel coils for each tonne of cold rolled stainless steel plates, sheets and strips have been supplied at internationally competitive prices to the said advance licence holders, replenishment licence holders or Import-Export Pass Books holders, who are entitled to duty free imports of such cold rolled stainless steel plates, sheets and strips; and".
