Amendment to Notification No. 317/87-Cus. [G.E. No. 186] Notification No. 244/89-Cus. Dated 3-10-1989 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 317/87-Customs, dated the 17th September, 1987, namely :- In the Table annexed to the said notification, - (i) against Sl. No. (vi), in column (2),- (a) for item 14 and the entry relating thereto, the following item and the entry shall be substituted, namely :- "14. Hob Grinder/Sharpners"; (b) for item 53 and the entry relating thereto, the following item and entry shall be substituted, namely :- "53. Insert periphery grinding machine with working accuracy of + -0.005 mm (5 Microns programmable for different profiles on the inserts.", (c) for item 55 and the entry relating thereto, the following item and entry shall be substituted namely :- "55. Automatic Hydraulic/Mechanical Presses with Shuttling device for hard metal powder compacting/bonded abrasive manufacturers.", (ii) against Sl. No. (viii), in column (2), after item 30 and the entry relating thereto, the following items and entries shall be inserted, namely :- "31. CNC Plasma cutting machine. 32. Horizontal machining centres above 1500/1500 mm traverses. 33. Hydraulic cold saw of bar capacity above 530 mm dia. 34. CNC Rotary Table. 35. CNC Tool pre-setter. 36. Horizontal High-speed Band saw machine with cutting speed of 120 metre per minute or more. 37. Jigs, fixtures, dies and patterns, moulds and press tools. 38. Moving column bed type universal ram type miller. 39. Laser cutting/drilling machine."; (iii) after Sl. No. (viii) and the entries relating thereto, the following Sl. No. and the entries shall be inserted, namely :- (1) (2) (3) "(ix) 1. Horizontal Boring Machine For paper machinery"; 2. Table Boring Machine 3. Vertical Boring Machine 4. Vertical Lathe with CNC 5. Grinding Machine with cambering attachment for grinding drying cylinders and rolls 6. Dynamic balancing machine with micro-processor with intelligence 7. CNC Drilling machines 8. Tig Welding Machine 9. Electro Polishing Equipment 10. Piano Miller for 8 meters stroke 11. CNC co-ordinates measuring machine 12. Precision optical level with laser 13. Ceramic and CEN cutting tools 14. Electronic length measuring and taper measuring guages 15. Surface roughness measuring meter."; (iv) in the Explanation, item (8) shall be omitted.
