To set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for Manufacture and Export of Aluminium along with 1215 MW Captive Power Plant at Bhurkamunda, Brundmal and Kurebaga Villages, Tehsil and District- Jharsuguda, in the State of Orissa MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi , the 16th September, 2009 S.O. 2394(E). - Whereas M/s. Vedanta Aluminium Limited has proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) (hereinafter referred to as the Act) to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for Manufacture and Export of Aluminium along with 1215 MW Captive Power Plant at Bhurkamunda, Brundmal and Kurebaga Villages, Tehsil and District- Jharsuguda, in the State of Orissa; And whereas, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of Section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled and it has granted letter of approval under sub-section (10) of Section 3 of the said Act for development and operation of the sector specific Special Economic Zone for Manufacture and Export of Aluminium along with 1215 MW Captive Power Plant at the said villages on the 23 rd day of May, 2007 over an area of 242.81 hectares; And whereas, the Central Government in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 , has notified a total area of 166.91 hectares at Bhurkamunda, Brundmal and Kurebaga Villages, Tehsil and District- Jharsuguda, in the State of Orissa as Special Economic Zone in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry notification number 576 (E), dated the 27th February, 2009; And whereas M/s. Vedanta Aluminium Limited has proposed to include remaining area of 35.55 hectares at Kurebaga and Brundamal Villages, Tehsil, and District Jharsuguda, in the State of Orissa as a part of that Special Economic Zone; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby notifies the remaining area of 35.55 hectares at Kurebaga and Brundamal Villages, Tehsil and District Jharsuguda, in the State of Orissa, comprising of the Survey numbers and the area given in the Table below, to be included as a part of that Special Economic Zone, namely:- Table Sl.No. Name of the village Khata No. Plot No. Area in hectares 1.
