Section 637A(1) of the Companies Act, 1956 - Power of Central Government or Company Law Board to accord approval, etc., subject to conditions and to prescribe fees on applications - GSR 604(E), - Companies LawExtract GSR 604 ( E ) , DATED 20-10-1997, ISSUED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF COMPANY AFFAIRS, MINISTRY OF FINANCE Subject:- Section 637A(1) of the Companies Act, 1956 - Power of Central Government or Company Law Board to accord approval, etc., subject to conditions and to prescribe fees on applications GSR 604(E). In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 637A of the Companies Act, 1956 (1 of 1956), the Central Government makes the following modifications in the notifications GS R241 dated 28th April, 1995 and GSR 773(E) dated 4th December, 1995 as follows : In the notification number GSR 241 dated 28th April, 1995 published in the Gazette of India, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section ( i ), in item ( b ) for sub-item ( i ) relating to the members of nidhi the following sub-item shall be substituted with effect from the date of the publication of this notification in the Official Gazette namely : ( i ) at least two thousand members ; Provided that existing Nidhis and Mutual Benefit Societies shall be given one year's time from the date of this notification to increase the membership from not less than one thousand to not less than two thousand members. In the notification number GSR 773(E), dated 4th December, 1995 published in the Gazette of India (Extraordinary), Part II, Section 3 Sub-section ( i ), in item ( a ) sub-item ( vi ) shall be omitted with effect from the date of the publication of this notification in the Official Gazette.
