SEZ Act Under Section 4 - Set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for information technology and information technology enabled service at Village Gangaikondan, Taluka Tirunelveli, District Trunelveli in the State of Tamil Nadu; - S.O. 2838(E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 20 th December, 2011 S.O. 2838(E).- Whereas, M/s. Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited had proposed under Section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for information technology and information technology enabled service at Village Gangaikondan, Taluka Tirunelveli, District Trunelveli in the State of Tamil Nadu; And, whereas, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zone Rules, 2006 had notified the area of 40.480 hectares at above Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification No. S.O. 1425(E), dated 8 th June, 2009; And, whereas, M/s. Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited, has now proposed to include an area of 76.893 hectares to the above Special Economic Zone and the Central Government after considering the said proposal approved and conveyed it on 17 th June, 2011; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act,2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006, the Central Government hereby notifies an area of 76.893 hectares as part of the above Special Economic Zone, thereby making total area of the Special Economic Zone as 117.373 hectares, comprising the survey numbers and the area given below in the table, namely:- TABLE Sl.
