Captive Consumption - Excise Duty Structure Changed Notification No.19/98-CE, dated 18th July, 1998 In exercise of the power conferred by sub - section (1) of section 5A the of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944) , the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendment in the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 22/96-CE, dated the 23rd July, 1996, namely :- In the said notification, for the provision, the following proviso shall be substitued, namely :- Provided that nothing contained in this notification shall apply to inputs used in or in relation to the manufacture of the final products (other than those cleared either to a unit in a Free Trade Zone or to a 100% Export Oriented undertaking or to a unit in an Electronic Hardware Technology Park or software Technology Park) - (i) Specified against serial number 1 or serial number 2 of the said Table which are exempt form the whole of the said duty of excise or additional duty or excise leviable thereon, or are chargeable to `Nil' rate of duty, as the case may be; (ii) Specified against serial number 3 of the said which are exempt form the whole of the said of excise and chargeable to `Nil' rate of additional duty of excise leviable thereon."".
