Explanation to section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961, the Central Government had specified for building, furnishing, and running of B.T. (Bhagwanji Tribhovanbhai) Savalni Kidney Hospital at Rajkot, Gujarat, by Saurashtra Kidney Research Institute Notification No. S.O. 313(E), dated 18th March, 2002. Whereas by notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) bearing No. S.O. 268(E), dated 23rd March, 2000, issued under clause (b) to the Explanation to section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961), the Central Government had specified at Serial No.10, construction of building, furnishing, purchase of instruments/equipments and running of B.T. (Bhagwanji Tribhovanbhai) Savalni Kidney Hospital of Saurashtra Kidney Research Institute at Rajkot, Gujarat, by Saurashtra Kidney Research Institute, Rajkot, Shri Devjibhai Gokaldas Patel, C/o. Kansagara Hospital, Opp. Astron Cinema, Rajkot-360 001, as an eligible project or scheme for a period of three years beginning with the assessment year 2000-2001, 20012002 and 2002-2003; And whereas the said project or scheme is likely to extend beyond three years; And whereas the National Committee has, being satisfied that the said project or scheme is being executed properly, made a further recommendation under sub-rule (5) of rule 11M of the Income-tax Rules, 1962, for specifying the said project or scheme for a further period of three years; Now, therefore, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) read with clause (b) of the Explanation to section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961), hereby specifies the scheme or project of construction of building, furnishing, purchase of instruments/equipments and running of B.T. (Bhagwanji Tribhovanbhai) Savalni Kidney Hospital of Saurashtra Kidney Research Institute at Rajkot, Gujarat, which is being carried out by Saurashtra Kidney Research Institute, Rajkot, Shri Devjibhai Gokaldas Patel, C/o. Kansagara Hospital, Opp. Astron Cinema, Rajkot-360 001, at the estimated cost of rupees six crores fifty two lakhs eighty thousand only including a corpus fund of rupees two crores forty five lakhs only, as an eligible project or scheme for a further period of three years commencing from the assessment year 2003-2004.
