Amendments in Table B under Schedule 2 of ITC (HS) Classifications - 1005 - 22 /(RE-2008)/2004-09 - Foreign Trade PolicyExtract Amendments in Table B under Schedule 2 of ITC (HS) Classifications - 1005 NOTIFICATION NO. 22/(RE-2008)/2004-09 Dated 03/07/2008 S.O (E) In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 read with Section 3 (2) of the Foreign Trade (Development Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992) and also read with Para 1.3 and Para 2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import items, 2004-09, as amended from time to time: 2. With immediate effect, the entry at 46B in Table B under Schedule 2 of ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 2004-09, stands substituted as under:- 4 Sl . No. Tariff Item HS Code No. Unit Item Description Export Policy Nature of Restriction 46B 1005 10 00 Kg. Maize (corn) Seed quality Free 1. Export will be allowed subject to submission of following documents to Customs at the time of export: ( i ) A license to carry on the business of a dealer in seeds issued under Section 3 of the Seed Control Order (1983) from the State Government; and (ii) Declaration that the export consignment of seeds has been chemically treated and is not fit for human consumption; and 2. Export packets will be labeled that seeds are treated with chemical insecticides and cannot be used for food or feed purposes. 2. The above prohibition/restriction shall remain in force till 15th October, 2008. 1 [3. The transitional arrangements under Para 1.5 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09, as amended from time to time, shall be applicable for export of the aforesaid items.] 2 [Further, exporters shall be permitted to get their existing Letters of Credit, which were opened prior to the date of ban and which are eligible under the Transitional Arrangements under Para 1.5 of the Foreign Trade Policy, extended beyond original validity and time period for a further period of 18 days.] 3 [3.1 Ban on export of maize shall not be applicable to export of 25000 MTs of maize to be exported by M/s Emmsons International, New Delhi under United Nations' World Food Programme to Kenya, Somalia and Burundi and is meant for United Nations' humanitarian relief operations in these countries.] 4. Export packets will be labeled that seeds are treated with chemical insecticides and cannot be used for food or feed purposes.]
