Amendments in the Notification No.22 (RE-2008)/2004-09 dated 3rd July, 2008, regarding ban on export of maize - 24 (RE-2008)/2004-09 - Foreign Trade PolicyExtract Amendments in the Notification No.22 (RE-2008)/2004-09 dated 3rd July, 2008, regarding ban on export of maize Notification No 24 (RE-2008)/2004-09 Dated July 18, 2008 In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992) read with Para 1.3 and 2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the Notification No.22 (RE-2008)/2004-09 dated 3rd July, 2008 , regarding ban on export of maize:- 2. With immediate effect, Para 3 of the above Notification No.22 (RE-2008)/2004-09 dated 3rd July, 2008 , shall be substituted as under:- "3. The transitional arrangements under Para 1.5 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09, as amended from time to time, shall be applicable for export of the aforesaid items." 1 [ Further, exporters shall be permitted to get their existing Letters of Credit, which were opened prior to the date of ban and which are eligible under the Transitional Arrangements under Para 1.5 of the Foreign Trade Policy, extended beyond original validity and time period for a further period of 18 days. ] 2 [ 3.1 Ban on export of maize shall not be applicable to export of 25000 MTs of maize to be exported by M/s Emmsons International, New Delhi under United Nations' World Food Programme to Kenya, Somalia and Burundi and is meant for United Nations' humanitarian relief operations in these countries. ] 3.
