Amendment in the Schedule 2, Table B of ITC HS Classifications of Export and Import Items -Chapter 52 Notification No 26 (RE-2008)/2004-09 Dated: July 22, 2008 In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992) read with Para 1.3 and 2.1 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the Schedule 2 , Table B of ITC HS Classifications of Export and Import Items (1 st September, 2004 - 31 st March, 2009), by inserting the following Chapter 52, S.No.161 A, with immediate effect, as under: - CHAPTER 52 S.No. Tariff Item Code Unit Item of Description Export Policy Nature of Restriction 2 [161A 5201 Cotton, not carded nor combed Free Prior registration of contracts with DGFT Prior registration of contracts with DGFT The contracts for export of cotton, during the Cotton Season 2010-11(up to 30.09.2011), shall have to be registered with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade prior to shipment. During the Cotton Season, 2010 11(upto 30.09.2011) the export of cotton will be subject to a cap of 55 lakh bales or as notified by DGFT from time to time. Clearance of cotton consignments by Customs should be after verifying that the contracts have been registered. Further Substituted vide Notification No. 62 (RE-2010)/2009-2014, dated 02/08/2011, before it was read as:- The contracts for export of cotton shall be registered with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade prior to shipment. During the Cotton Season, 2010-11(upto 30.09.2011) the export of cotton will be subject to a cap of 65 lakh bales or as notified by DGFT from time to time. Clearance of cotton consignments by Customs should be after verifying that the contracts have been registered. A new procedure of registration is being separately notified for export of Cotton [ITC (HS) Code 5201 5203]. In respect of cotton waste including yarn waste and garneted stock [ITC (HS) Code 5202] there is no change even in the procedure to obtain registration. 3.
