To set up a multi-product Special Economic Zone at Mundra village, Taluka- Mundra in the State of Gujarat. MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi , the 11th August, 2008 S.O. 2022(E).— Whereas M/s. Gujarat Adani Port Limited, a private organisation in the State of Gujarat, has proposed under Section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), to set up a multi-product Special Economic Zone at Mundra village, Taluka- Mundra in the State of Gujarat; And, whereas, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of Section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled and it has granted letter of approval under sub-section (10) of Section 3 of the said Act for development, operation and maintenance of the multi-product Special Economic Zone at the said Mundra village area on 12th April, 2006 over an area of 2658.19 hectares; And, whereas, the Central Government, after being satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of Section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements were fulfilled, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Special Economic Zone Act, 2005 read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zone Rules, 2006, notified the total area of 2406-75-92 hectares on 23rd June, 2006 with S.O. 936 (F) and, remaining area of 251-43-08 hectares on 3rd July, 2007 with S.O. 1071 (E) and additional area of 74-61-45 hectares on 24th December, 2007 with S.O. 2174 (E) at Mundra in the State of Gujarat as Special Economic Zone vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry; And, whereas, M/s. Gujarat Adani Port Limited has proposed for the transfer of the approval of the said Special Economic Zone to M/s. Mundra Port and Special Economic Zone Limited and the Central Government after considering the said transfer proposal approved it and conveyed such transfer of approval on 6th September, 2006; And, whereas, consequent upon the order dated 24th November, 2006 of the High Court of Gujarat for merger, all the approvals granted in the name of Mundra SEZ Limited shall stand transferred in the name of Mundra Port and Special Economic Zone Limited and the Central Government conveyed such transfer of approval on 14th November, 2007; And, whereas, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of Section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled; And, whereas, Central Government approved additional land of 1850-56-65 hectares and 263-22-97 hectares in the notified multi-product Special Economic Zone of Mundra Port and Special Economic Zone Limited and conveyed such approval on 13th March, 2008 and 21st May, 2008 respectively; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Special Economic Zone Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zone Rules, 2006, the Central Government hereby notifies the additional area of 2113-79-62 hectares at Taluka- Mundra in the State of Gujarat, comprising the survey numbers and the area given below in the Table, to be included as a part of that Special Economic Zone, namely :— TABLE S.No. Name of village Survey number Area (in hectares) (1) (2) (3) (4) 1.
