Notified the Special Economic Zones at Mundra in the State of Gujarat - S.O.1365(E). - Special Economic ZoneExtract Notified the Special Economic Zones at Mundra in the State of Gujarat MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi , 27th May, 2009 S.O.1365(E). - Whereas, the Central Government had notified the Special Economic Zones at Mundra in the State of Gujarat under the following notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Ministry of Commerce), namely: (1) S.O. number 936(E) dated 23rd June, 2006 (annexed as Annexure A to this notification); (2) S.O. number 1071(E) dated 3rd July, 2007 (annexed as Annexure B to this notification); (3) S.O. number 2174(E) dated 24 December, 2007 (annexed as Annexure C to this notification); (4) S.O. number 2022 (E) dated 11th August, 2008 (annexed as Annexure D to this notification); (5) S.O. number 1079(E) dated 2nd May, 2008 (annexed as Annexure E to this notification); (6) S.O. number 742(E) dated 10th May, 2007 (annexed as Annexure F to this notification); 2. And whereas, the developer has proposed to add 258.2112 hectares of land to the composite SEZ; 3. And whereas, Central Government approved the notification of additional land of 258.2112 hectares in the merged form in the composite notified Special Economic Zone of Mundra Port and Special Economic Zone Limited and conveyed such approval on the 27th day of February, 2009; 4. And whereas the Central Government has decided to consolidate all the Special Economic Zones notified vide S.O. number 936(E) dated 23rd June, 2006; S.O. number 1071(E) dated 3rd July, 2007; S.O. number 2174(E) dated 24th Dcember, 2007; S.O. number 2022(E) dated 11th August, 2008; S.O. number 1079(E) dated 2 nd May 2008; S.O. number 742(E) dated 10th May, 2007 referred in preceding paragraphs and annexed to this notifications for administrative convenience and without affecting rights, obligations and fiscal benefits of the Developers. 5. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, and in supersession of notification number S.O. 936(E) dated 23 June, 2006; S.O. number 1071(E) dated 3rd July, 2007; S.O. number 2174(E) dated 24th December, 2007; S.O. number 2022(E) dated 11th August, 2008; S.O. number 1079(E) dated 2nd May, 2008; S.O. number 742(E) dated 10th May, 2007, referred to in the first paragraph, except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the Central Government, on being satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled, hereby consolidates the Special Economic Zones mentioned in the notifications referred to in the first paragraph, and re-notifies the following areas including 258.2112 hectares land to the composite Special Economic Zone referred to in Paragraphs 2 3 above at Mundra in the state of Gujarat, comprising the survey numbers and the area given in the Table below, as a Special Economic Zone, namely:- TABLE (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) S. Gujarat Adani Port Limited, a private organization in the stale of Gujarat, had proposed under Section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the Act) to set up a multi-product Special Economic Zone at Mundra Village, Taluka-Mundra in the state of Gujarat; And Whereas the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under Sub-section (8) of Section 3 of the Act and other related requirements are fulfilled and it has granted letter of approval under Sub-section (10) of Section 3 of the Act for development operation and maintenance of the multi-product Special Economic Zone at the said Mundra Village area on the 12th April, 2006 over an area of 2658.19 hectares; And whereas the Central Government, after being satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of Section 3 of the Act and other related requirements were fulfilled, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zone Rules, 2006 , notified the total area of 2406-75-92 hectares at Mundra in the State of Gujarat as Special Economic Zone vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry vide No.SO.936(E), dated the 23rd June, 2006; And whereas M/s. Gujarat Adani Port Limited has proposed for the tander of the approval of the said Special Economic Zone to M/s.
