Exemption u/s 35AC - Central Government had specified "SUJAL water filters to be given to Advasi communities in Shahapur Taluka of Thane district, Maharashtra " by The Bridge Public Charitable Trust, as an eligible project or the scheme Notification No. S. O. 1846(E) dated 25th July, 2008 . Whereas by notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) number S. O. 1111(E) dated the 8th August, 2005 issued under sub-section (1) read with clause (b) of the Explanation to section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961) , the Central Government had specified at serial number 23 "SUJAL water filters to be given to Advasi communities in Shahapur Taluka of Thane district, Maharashtra" by The Bridge Public Charitable Trust, Oasis, Nehru Road, Vakola, Santacruz East, Mumbai 400 055, as an eligible project or the scheme for a period of three years beginning with the financial year 2005-06; And, whereas, the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare, on the basis of the request of the applicant trust to withdraw the approval as the donation could not be collected by the trust during the approved period and hence recommended under sub section (5) of the said section for withdrawal of approval granted under section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961) , in so far as it specifies the trust and the project or scheme at serial number 23; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (4) and (5) of section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961 , the Central Government hereby withdraws the approval granted to The Bridge Public Charitable Trust, Oasis, Nehru Road, Vakola, Santacruz East, Mumbai 400 055 and withdraws the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), number S. O. 1111(E) dated the 8th August, 2005, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, section 3(ii) dated the 8th August, 2005, in so far as it relates to the project or the scheme "SUJAL water filters to be given to Advasi communities in Shahapur Taluka of Thane district, Maharashtra" being carried out by The Bridge Public Charitable Trust, Oasis, Nehru Road, Vakola, Santacruz East, Murnbai 400 055, mentioned at serial number 23 in the aforesaid notification and makes the following amendment in the said notification, namely In the said notification, the serial number 23 relating to the project or the scheme "SUJAL water filters to be given to Advasi communities in Shahapur Taluka of Thane district, Maharashtra" being carried out by The Bridge Public Charitable Trust, Oasis, Nehru Road, Vakola, Santacruz East, Mumbai 400 055 and the entries relating thereto shall be omitted and the certificate furnished under clause (a) of sub-section (2) of section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961 , shall not be taken into consideration while calculating the tax of the income under the Income-tax Act, 1961 .
