Bank-wise/category-wise number of Directors in Public Sector Banks including State Bank of India, as per Reserve Bank of India (RBI) record, is annexed.  Government Nominee Directors are appointed as per extant Guidelines. Non-Governmental Directors are elected under Section 9(3)(i) of the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970/1980.  Before election, the Nomination Committee of the Bank does the fit and proper exercise of the candidature of the Directors, as per RBI’s guidelines.  This is also done annually as on 31st March every year during the tenure of the Director.
