Refund or demand is determined by department only after assessment. therefore you cannot revised the return. but if any substantial error encrypted then it should be intimated ti department. this is my view.

It is a system that may have accepted the return. but this may invite notice from department as refund is received and even after that revised return is filed.

I feel a letter should be addressed to your ward Officer along with original and revised return and stating the reason for revised return. This may support you during assessment. If the amount is nominal then department may not bother much and pass the credit and issue refund.
