The effective date of commencement of Container Scanning facility will be intimated shortly. A Container Scanning Division (CSD) headed by Deputy/Assistant Commissioner of Customs, CSD has been created for this purpose and is functional from the aforesaid Scanner location in Mumbai Port area. This facility is prominently marked as Container Scanning Division (CSD), Mumbai, where scanning of containers will be done. All Odd-Dimensional Containers (ODC) shall directly report to the earmarked CFSs of Mumbai Port. The Customs Gate officer posted at such CFS will verify and endorse the EIR copy or DOCKS DEPARTMENT CONTAINER GATE PASS copy with remark VERIFIED, ODC CONTAINER . The said endorsed copy shall then be produced before the Customs Check-in officer at CSD Scanning site who will then enter the said container number in the system and thereafter affix the stamp NOT SCANNED DUE TO ODC/OVERWIEGHT. 6. Also, if one container from a Bill of Lading (B/L) is marked SUSPICIOUS, it is understood/implied that the B.E. itself is under the hold of Container Scanning Division and hence all the containers in the said Bill of Lading shall also be put on CSD HOLD by the respective CFS. ii. an email in this regard will be sent to the CFSs by CSD on their registered email IDs confirming the container numbers that are to be kept under CSD HOLD. The email will also have instructions as to whether the CSD hold container would be examined under DC/Docks supervision OR under CSD supervision. iii. the CFSs will not allow any seal c ..... After following procedures such as investigation and adjudication, (if any), the goods will be released or otherwise as per the orders therein. Before clearance, the file will be marked to DC/CSD for final NOC. 12. No requests for amendments in IGM would be allowed for CSD hold containers unless final NOC is given by CSD. 13.
