Authorised Officers u/s 25 read with Section 47 (5) of Food Safety Standards (FSS) Act, 2006 and Regulation 13 (1) of FSS (Import) Regulation, 2017 - Instruction No. 07/2024-Customs issued by the CBIC specifies the review and designation of 155 points of entry for food imports in India, effective from April 1st, 2024. It announces the appointment of Authorized Officers, both from FSSAI and Customs, tasked with food import clearance. The directive aims to enhance food safety and regulatory efficiency by optimizing the distribution of responsibilities across strategically chosen entry points.
