High Court Modifies Cheque Dishonour Order: Reduces Deposit Requirement to 20% for Compliance with Legal Standards.

Dishonour of Cheque - requirement to deposit a minimum of 20% of the fine or compensation - speedy disposal of cases - The High Court found that the appellate court erred in law by ordering a 50% deposit, which was against the statutory provision and punitive in nature. The High Court modified the appellate court's order, directing the appellant to deposit 20% of the fine within 60 days and maintaining the bail conditions imposed by the appellate court.
